Most teenagers, especially girls think that only shampooing their hair is sufficient to keep the latter healthy. Moreover, they are unaware of the fact that no matter how strong or thick their hair look, they are actually very delicate. So, it’s crucial to take proper care of teenage tresses so as to make them healthy for within. Following article presents top hair care tips for teens. It’s high time to follow them:

    • Comb your tresses and detangle them before you wet them. Not combing can worsen the tangles which can ultimately make it difficult for you to wash your hair.
    • Don’t brush your wet locks as they are more prone to breakage. Instead, rely on a wide tooth comb for detangling.
    • Don’t treat your hair with heat as well as harsh chemicals. Ironing, straightening, chlorine in pools, bleaches and hair dyes – all can damage your hair if done repeatedly.
    • Always use chemical free shampoos. The dangerous chemicals (especially parabens & sulfates) present in the shampoos strip moisture and natural oil from your hair and make it dry and brittle. Chemical formulas also cause dandruff problems, scalp irritation and color fading. So, opt for paraben-free and sulfate-free shampoos to wash your hair.
    • Do a hot-oil treatment once or twice every week. This helps retaining moisture in your locks. It’s is also advisable to do a deep-conditioning treatment once in a while.
    • For frizzy hair, use a hair serum. Hair serums moisturize the hair without making it greasy. Apply the serum starting from the ends and then moving upward to the length. To reduce frizz, it is also recommended to sleep on satin or silk pillowcases. Moreover, dry your hair with a t-shirt instead of towel after stepping out of a shower.

  • Drink plenty of water to keep yourself hydrated. This is crucial to maintain your hair’s good health.
  • If you have to do blow drying or ironing occasionally, use a thermal protectant before using your heating devices.
  • Avoid wearing high ponytails and tight hair bands to avoid hair breakage.
  • Trim your hair regularly. This prevents split ends and boosts hair growth. Something that’s very crucial for healthy hair!
